On the Rails (VIA), using the BMW (Bus Metro Walk) and the Red Rocket TTC. Montreal to Toronto, What other way is there to travel. Except have feet will travel.
Also a stopover in Kingston to pickup and drop off my father. Going for the taping of The Hour On Thursday the 19th of March. Planning in advance reduces the cost of the rail tickets (super saver comfort class) Also traveling with my father who is a senior I get to travel for free as a companion from Kingston to Toronto return. I now purchase my music from ITUNES , No plastic jewel case, No inside jacket. Think how much packaging is saved!!!!
Also I have the choice what songs I want from each album. I love the Genius feature on my ITouch when I travel on the bus and train.

My Carbon Footprint may seem low, but individuals who do not own cars such as myself are not credited for non usage. A major contribution to reduce CO2 emission
Was just reviewing my pledge and noticed that individuals that do not own cars there is no section or credit for.

Walked around Kingston this past weekend to visit my father. Checked the local market (not much local veggies except root crops). Also went to the Iron Duke.
The Iron Duke was featured on the Friday morning news regarding
Their operation to reduce the pub's environental impact. Check out On the menu that I placed in the blog section. Also visited Terra organic food store where they have Eco-freindly health products such as shampoo, toothpaste, laundy detergent, to name a few. The store is going plastic bag free. They are promoting for customers to bring their own containers

Took the BMW (Bus / Metro / Walk) to meet friends downtown Montreal for dinner on Saturday

Shared a ride with Ric and my father from Montreal to Fredericton. Planning on heading to Halifax by bus and returning back to MTL by train. (NO PLANES)
Spending 10 days of R&R with my father in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia to walk the trails and observe the changing of the leaves. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year.

Made use of three public transits Montreal, Kingston, and Burlington, Also used Via Rail from Montreal to Kingston then to Aldershot and return back to MTL.

The city of Laval, has taken action to help reduce CO2 emissions on Smog Alert days by reducing Public Transit by $1.00 hoping to reduce the congested traffic h
Let's encourage other cities to take the same action.

Rights of Summer, had local Stawberries and Rhubarb pie last night , made by my neighbor.

Looks like some rain in Montreal this weekend, will give me a chance to read Sacred Balance by David Suzuki. Also a trip to the Jean Talon Market .

In the Province of Quebec, School's Out For The Summer !!!! Be Aware of the Chridren on bikes and walking. Drive slower around Parks and Residental areas
Next week the rest of Canada will be off for summer break.

Purchased two outdoor solar lamps, no need to turn on the patio light. There is sufficient light that lights up the patio. Good investment for 25$ for the pair.

Went for a walkabout around Pointe Claire. dropped in to Chapters and they had the most recent National Geographic Green Guide Magazine. Highly recommend.

Waking up to the natural sound of the birds, there is a pair of Morning Doves nesting in one of the pines, plus a robin's nest just outside my window, Love it
Alot better than hearing the traffic heading down the St. John Blvd. or the canteen truck blowing his horn for the early morning coffee break at a construction site down the road from where I live.

Working on my patio garden! Transplanted herbs , planted mix salad seeds in two large terra containers. Letting my tomato seedlings adjust to the outdoors.

Feeling stressed, need a break !!! Why not (take a hike) around Fredericton or Lemoine Point or just vist Montreal Botanical gardens (Green Thumbs).

Walked around Lemoine Pointe in Kingston with my father. Great show of trillums and the swallows put on a fantastic air show around the marsh area of the parK.
We saw quite a few species of birds preparing their nesting sites. Ducks , Geese, a pair of loons, woodpeckers, orilles, warlbers the list goes on. Pictures will be posted soon. Played hide and seek with several chipmonks.

Walked around Terra Cota Park in Pointe Claire, Qc. The trillums our out in full bloom. Watched birds making nests, a raccoon looking for a meal in the swamp.

Attended The Sacred Balance. Wilmot United Seminar 2008
with my father in Fredericton.

Walked my feet off on the south riverfront trail in Fredericton with my father. The river has receded since the crest on Thursday May 1.

Bought a Terra Pass to offset the flight to Fredericton NB next week with my father. Plan on going to Sacred Balance and Paddlefest.

Filled in a survey from Défi Climat. This was a workplace innovative to have employees take action on climate change.
