When I was a blogger for About.com, on occasion, I would get a copy of a security product to review. I have not done that sort of thing in a long time so I am taking this opportunity to do a simple review on a product that a buddy of mine passed to me to take a look at. The product is eco mist solutions BBQ Grill Cleaner. Just so you know I have no financial interest in the company.

This stuff is made from non-chlorinated water, grass, corn, coconut and tree sap. I can tell you after I read the label I did not think it would work any better than water. Corn and grass to clean my grill, come on!

So I followed the instructions and scraped down the grill then sprayed this stuff all over the grill and let it sit. After a minute I gave it a good scrub. It worked pretty well. It does not dissolve big clumps of “BBQ build up from weeks gone by” but nicely takes the greasy film off the top of the grill to get you ready for your next BBQ.  It is safe for all food surfaces and is non-toxic. The best part is the stuff is made in Canada!

If you are interested take a look at http://www.ecomistsolutions.com. You can buy the product from Home Depot in Canada as well.

One Million Acts of Green is a great way to get a large community of people thinking about what they can do to increase the sustainability of their daily lives. The 90+ “Acts of Green” is a great start but many of you have your own green knowledge and it is time to start sharing with others it to accelerate change.

Here at GreenNexxus we have launched our Green Tips web application. Green Tips allows you to view, share, rate and comment on a variety of tips in different categories such as vehicles, water and food. These tips come from GreenNexxus users just like you. Tips the community likes get rated and float to the top, the ones the community does not like get sent to the bottom. If you click on a tip title you like you can share it via Twitter, Facebook, Stumble Upon or Email.

You see, people I encounter many times are overwhelmed with pressure to go green or think it is too complex. I find if you give people simple tidbits of green common sense, it starts them on a journey of understanding green and in time the green lifestyle becomes second nature. As green becomes common sense to them, the addition of sustainable practices become the norm instead of the exception. Then planet positive lifestyle changes happen and spreads though their homes and comminutes.

So share your green tips at parties, community gatherings, with friends and family, but also with us.

The more you share, the more it helps us all work towards a sustainable future.

Submit your green tip today!

BBQ season is here for us in the colder part of the world. BBQ usually means paper plates and LOTS of plastic cups. When we were out shopping my wife discovered a way to be a little greener when BBQing. She found "plastic" cups are made of an all nature resin derived from corn product and are 100% bio-degradable and you can even compost  the cups or put them in a green bin. The paper plates are made of 100% recycled materials and we will put them back in the recycle bin once we use them.

The plates and cups are made by a company called bio*life and we bought them at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada.

Every little bit helps.
