Home Projects:
Use Low or No VOC Paint to Improve Air Quality
Description
Painting your home adds colour and warmth. But it also adds benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, xylene and ethylene – neurotoxins that pollute the air. VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) help spread the paint and make it stick to the wall. But they also evaporates into the atmosphere and can linger up to three months, causing irritation in your eyes, nose and throat. Not to mention nausea, dizziness and headaches. Be on the lookout for paints with low VOC’s.
